Enhanced Mid-Range Task Switching
by admin
The firmware for a project I'm working on using an enhanced mid-range device (a 12F1822) would most easily coded using two tasks so I decided to see how simple the code would be. The results are documented here http://www.pic-projects.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=67:simple-multi-tasking-on-enhanced-mid-range-devices&catid=51:multi-tasking&Itemid=77
Small changes sometimes have a big effect

I used to log into the forum twice a day to remove spam posting and fake users with strange links in their profiles but since I enabled e-mail verification they have all moved on. Just wish I'd found the option earlier.
Work pressure has kept me busy and I've not managed to add new content but I've started updating some of the part finished articles we a view to releasing them over the summer.

New Articles on EEPROM and Delays soon

Another PIC coder has volunteered to write some articles about using EEPROM and generating short delays. They should be posted to the site this week.
LED Modules and Driver

I've been using the time I spend on trains getting too and from my day job to work on the code for another project and its associated hardware.
The firmware is for a 16F690 and provides a serial based controller for four seven segment LEDs. The software is coming along nicely but I haven't finalised the PCBs yet.
The cunning plan is to have the controller, load resisters and transistors on one board and the LEDs (either 4x 1-digit, 2x 2-digit, 1x 4-digit or 1x 88:88 clock) on another with a common set of interconnecting pins (possibly a 2x6 pin header).
The 1x 4-digit and 88:88 displays are the easiest to work with. There isn't any nice way to connect all the segments when using 4x 1-digit or 2x 2-digit seven segment displays, especially if you're trying to stick with a single sided PCB.
